Prepared Piano，预制钢琴。在音乐创作领域之外，大概没有人会听说这种钢琴。预制钢琴并不是找钢琴厂家去订制一台钢琴，而是通过在钢琴上安装各种小装置或利用不同的录音技巧，来录制出钢琴上各种零部件在演奏，敲击，摩擦下发出的声音。

众所周知，钢琴由于有着密集的钢弦，巨大的箱体，丰满的共振和泛音，是最有创作空间的乐器。于是艺术家们充分开发钢琴音色的潜力，在钢弦上添加金属，钉子，锥子等小器物，激发出更多的金属颗粒感，或在钢弦或键盘上铺上毛毯，让声音低沉醇厚阴暗。

Randy Kerber 是好莱坞的影视作曲家，钢琴家和键盘艺术家。他参与录制了 Cinesamples 的这套预制钢琴的录制。而这套音色，分别使用了三台钢琴，分别在传奇的索尼的 MGM 舞台和洛杉矶的好莱坞录音棚录制。
